StageSceneLA 2016-2017 SCENIES: DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR for his amazing roster of productions which included The Belle of Amherst.

Todd Nielsen has received a number of awards and nominations recognizing his work as director and actor from Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, Backstage, Dramalogue, LA Weekly, LA Stage Scene, Broadway World and LA Stage Alliance. His productions of On the Twentieth Century and City of Angels won the LA Ovation award for Best Musical (Intimate Theatre). LA Stage Scene honored him as one of the Best Directors of the 2012-13 & 2016-17 seasons. He acted as Resident Director for the National Tour of Disney’s The Lion King. Recent productions: Is He Dead?, Bye, Bye, Birdie, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure for Glendale Centre Theatre, White Christmas for Musical Theatre West & San Diego Musical Theatre and Silent Sky & Closer than Ever for International City Theatre.
